Smart AKIS Innovation Workshop in UK
A first Smart AKIS Innovation Workshop took place last May 10th in North Suffolk, East of England, UK, under the title “Smarter, Not Harder: Open Innovation for Smart Farming” Chris Hill from Eastern Daily Press reports the findings of the Workshop organised by #EurAgEng and Agri-Tech East. As Chris Hill reports, “Farmers, agronomists and technologists gathered at Elveden Village Hall, near Thetford, for the “Smarter, Not Harder” event run by Agri-Tech East in partnership with Smart-AKIS, the European network for smart farming. They heard from companies using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to capture detailed multi-spectral images to identify crop diseases, carry out black-grass surveys, create 3D land models to assess drainage issues – and even count apples in orchards”. The worshop also held a field exhibition on the capabilities of UAVs and drones solutions. You can read the full article in this link. Picture by Chris Hill.
