This year’s AGROTICA exhibition in Thessaloniki, biggest agricultural fair and exhibition in Greece, with high participation of exhibitors (counting over 2.000), and even higher public interest (over 120.000 visitors), exceeded every expectation. Participating at the exhibition, Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) had the opportunity to present its actions in the field of smart farming and agri-engineering under the Smart-AKIS framework. Farmers and researchers showed great interest in Smart Farming Technologies (SFTs) and seeked further information concerning the project. The idea of a Smart Farming Platform focusing on SFTs seems to be highly embraced by active farmers and, also, by students in the field of agriculture who aim to be productive practitioners in the future. The interest of agricultural machinery companies’ representatives was equally significant, showing interest on registering in the platform and inserting their SFTs.
